Ross Bridge Medical Center is now performing Rapid antigen and PCR COVID-19 testing, as well as antibody testing, for both pediatric and adult patients. Rapid antigen tests are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis until daily supply capacities are reached. COVID-19 testing is 100% covered by your insurance company at this time. If you do not have insurance, there will be no out of pocket cost to you. All visits require a virtual or curbside screening with one of our providers and then your test will be administered in your car. COVID Testing Q&A

1. What are the symptoms of novel coronavirus or COVID19 infection?

Symptoms of COVID 19 can range from mild fever, cough, and shortness of breath, sore throat or body aches to severe life-threatening pneumonia. Symptoms may not start for up to two weeks after getting exposed to the virus.. 

2. How can I protect myself and my family from getting sick?

As of now, the novel coronavirus is highly contagious and spreading rapidly from person to person through respiratory droplets. You can protect yourself and your family by staying at home, washing your hands frequently, using hand sanitizers, avoiding large gatherings, and travel. Further information can be obtained at

3. Should I get tested for the new coronavirus infection?

Current guidelines for COVID19 testing say if you feel sick, have symptoms of fever, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath or body aches, if you have traveled within or outside the US to an area with the ongoing spread of coronavirus, if you have come in contact with anyone with symptoms of coronavirus then you should get tested.

4. I do not feel sick. Should I still get tested?

As of now, CDC does not recommend getting tested if you do not have symptoms of Coronavirus. But the novel coronavirus is spreading rapidly from person to person. After exposure, you may not have symptoms for up to 2 weeks. It is advisable to get tested if you think you might have coronavirus infection or your might have been around someone who has the infection.

5. How should I get prepared for coronavirus testing?

If you are planning to get tested for coronavirus testing at Ross Bridge Medical Center or any other testing facility, you need to ensure that you have made the initial phone call to let the clinic know that you are coming in for testing. Walk-ins will not be accepted. You do not need to fast before your test. You should take all your medications like usual on the day of testing.

6. What if my test is negative?

A negative test result for this test means that SARSCoV-2 RNA was not present in the specimen above the limit of detection. However, a negative result does not rule out COVID-19. You should still continue to take precautions to protect yourself as mentioned above and if you develop new symptoms, you should get retested.

7. What if my COVID19 test if positive?

A positive test result for COVID-19 indicates that RNA from SARS-CoV-2 was detected, and the patient is presumptively infected with the virus and presumed to be contagious. As per CDC’s guidelines, if you test positive you need to wear a mask when you are around people, quarantine yourself in a separate room in the house and wash and disinfect your hands frequently during the day. You should let your primary doctor (if you are not a patient at RBMC) know about your test results as well.

8. I have travel plans. Can I go on my trip if my test is negative?

At this time, all non-essential travel should be restricted irrespective of your test results.

9. What should I do about my medications for blood pressure, heart, cholesterol, etc.

You should continue all your previous medications irrespective of your COVID19 test results and discuss with your prescribing physician if you stop or change them.
